On 31st March we were delighted to welcome, Clare Moody Labour MEP for the South West and Gibraltar who delivered an inspiring and insightful talk to our 6th formers. Clare is a member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats and sits on the Budget Committee, Industry and Women's Rights and Gender Equality Committee. Having previously worked in Downing Street liaising between Trade Unions and the Labour Government, she gave first hand knowledge of developing employment legislation through the European Union. A multitude of current political issues were discussed regarding the triggering of Article 50, from the impact on workers' rights, the environment, the UK's relationship with the US, current Labour stance on Brexit along with the complexities of future negotiations with the EU and the Brexit legislative 'unravelling' process. We are hugely grateful for Clare's time this afternoon at an especially busy week in UK and EU politics.
