Pate’s U15 team pitted their rounders skills against 9 other schools from Cheltenham and District in a bid to become District Champions for 2016!

In a tough section that had last years winners in it the girls got off to a great start beating Cleeve 51/2 – 21/2

They held their nerve against Cotswold who had beaten them earlier in the season to win that match by half a rounder!

A win against Winchcombe followed and finally they faced Balcarras who had some fantastic hitters in their team. Balacarras emerged winners but in a three way tie in the section Pate’s had done enough to ensure they were first in the section. So a place in the final was secure!

Here they faced CLC. Pates batted first and scored well achieving their highest total of the afternoon.

However again Pate’s were ‘outgunned’ by some tremendous hitting by CLC and although Pate’s did not let much go in the field they were unable to stop CLC overtaking their total. Final score over 20 balls was 121/2- 11

The Pate’s team showed tremendous all round ability and should be proud of their efforts to reach the final and finish as District Runners up.
