Pate’s won their first three group matches convincingly, beating Balcarras 9-1, Pittville 10-0, Winchcombe 13-2. The fourth game v Cheltenham Ladies College started well but we struggled to convert opportunities into goals. The second half was closely matched as we brought the score level, CLC scoring in the last 30 seconds of the game. Final score 3-2 to CLC.

Going into the semi-final as runners up saw Pate’s play Chipping Campden. The first half was goal for goal as each team converted their centre pass. Pate’s stepped up in the second half to take a 5 goal lead, earning themselves a place in the final.

Changes in attack saw Ella Dandy to GA to contest with CLC's athletic GD, Megan Hire at WA taking 3 clean intercepts as the ball came out of CLC's defence to allow us more shooting opportunities. Half time and Pate’s were trailing 2-0. A much tidier second half saw the shooters find their spot in the circle and convert, bringing the game level to 4-4. Extra time of 2 minutes followed and the team was instructed to keep possession because after two minutes we were into Golden Goal. Both teams scored from their centres and as we went into Golden Goal Pate’s had possession. Ella Dandy cleanly converted a mid range shot to win the game.

A well deserved win for a team who performed with control under pressure. There were lots of turnovers in defence and some well timed flow through mid court. Safe circle edge feeds to consistent shooters provided the opportunity to convert. District Champions!
