23/01/2014 – rehearsal 2
Today we began choreography for the performance – Joe had some interesting ideas which he seemed keen to instate...
However Mr. Derbyshire had some ideas of his own...
Minty enjoyed stepping in as Julius Caesar, being fabulous as ever. The introduction of a photographer is part of this modern adaptation.
On the music front, Mr. Derbyshire has composed two a capella scores – Julius Chant and the Wailing Women – both of which we attempted to run through today.
And finally – the blocking of Mark Antony’s speech! This involved standing on the audience’s chairs and throwing them around, amidst much anger and shouting.
This is already shaping up to be an exciting, refreshing adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy (hint hint go and book your tickets now!)
