NEW FITNESS SUITE OPENS
Sir Geoff Hurst MBE - Opening of the Fitness Suite – April 2010
Sir Geoff Hurst MBE delivered assembly after the school enjoyed footage of the 1966 World Cup Final at Wembley when 97000 people had crowded in to the stadium where Sir Geoff scored the hat-trick that won the world cup for England. Sir Geoff talked about the importance of hard work in life to ensure success. He also shared some of his memories of the final itself – not least regarding the infamous decision about ‘that’ goal and the nod of confirmation from the ‘Russian linesman’.
Sir Geoff was in school to officially open our Fitness Suite provided based on donations from parents, alumni and the Pate’s Foundation.
