In whole school Assembly this week the Great Pate’s House Bake-Off 2017 winners were announced! The competition was incredibly hard fought, so huge congratulations to the following students who triumphed: SENIOR CUP: 1st Sophie Clark (13P), 2nd Tom Hulls (12B), 3rd Ellie Stubbs (12B); INTER CUP: 1st Libby Combe (10B), 2nd Corli More (9B), 3rd Sohia Witcomb (10G); JUNIOR CUP: 1st Ellie Brooks (8B), 2nd Amelia Flaxman (7R), 3rd Nathir Kriel (8Y). These students were presented with a certificate and a House Bake-Off Apron. Hopefully we can post some photos in next week’s message. Our inaugural House Bake-Off was great fun – my thanks to Mr Renton for organising it so well and to everyone who got involved. By selling the cakes off we managed to raise around £650 for Making £nds Meet!

Congratulations to Tamsin Hearfield (7R), who was announced by the Community Committee as winner of the Christmas Card Competition.

A reminder that the PA Second-hand Uniform cupboard will next be open on Friday 1st December from 3pm as part of the new Open Cupboard every first and third Friday. Meanwhile if you have any uniform requests please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . We would be grateful if requests to buy / try uniform could be restricted to these times when the PA are available to man the shop. Thank you.
Social Media: We have been asked to remind parents that, when posting photos online please consider whether others (or parents of those) in the photos are happy for their image to be published on (on Facebook, for example), as some parents definitely don’t want photos of their children posted online. If you are unsure then it would be best not to post the photo. Thank you.

Safety on site: Please could we politely request that parents do not drive onto the school site through the ‘no entry’ signs at the PAB end of school. These are exit gates, not entrance gates, and there have been a number of near-misses. Please use the main gates and arrange to collect children on the other side of school. Thank you.

The Pate's Target 2.0 team won the Gloucestershire competition held at the Parabola Arts centre this week. The team were made up of: Thomas Adams, Nikesh Amlani, Shrey Bhardwaj, Tom Couch, Asisa Johal, and Anjali Kumar. After many weeks of research they concluded that, despite inflationary pressure coming from a tightening of the labour market and increasing, but slowing, demand in the economy, the current Monetary Policy Committee's decision to raise interest rates should be sufficient to bring inflation back to the target rate of 2% in the next 12-18 months. The judges were unanimous in their decision to make Pate's the winners and commented on their 'slick' approach to presenting such complex information.

As parents, your feedback and views are very important to us. We would be immensely grateful if you could spare just two minutes to complete our annual online parent survey which can be found by clicking here.  The information we gather is anonymous and will help us to continue to improve and develop the school experience that we offer to all our pupils. We would ideally ask that every parent completes this and shares their views with us - many thanks in anticipation of your help and support with this. I hope everyone is enjoying some well earned time off school and I look forward to seeing you back refreshed next week.

Yours sincerely
