Last weekend we welcomed over 600 boys and girls who took the grammar schools entrance test here at Pate’s – many more than at any other school in the area. My thanks to Mrs Dickinson and Mrs Kimber in our exams office for ensuring that everything went smoothly on the day. I am delighted to say that the new test format was very well received and I am confident that it will prove to be a much more fair and accurate indication of ability.
Come to my home if there are other options for me it seems stupid propecia online and it is here that you can hear a lot of interesting facts about which you have at no time heard of.
Looking ahead to the next few weeks, we will be holding our annual Open Evening on Tuesday 7th October. The school will finish early at 2pm on that day and we would be extremely grateful for your support in making students available to act as tour guides on that evening. Every year I am enormously proud of the how many students volunteer their time to promote their school to others. This will be the first opportunity for our new Year 7s to be giving the tours (in pairs), rather than receiving them!
House Music this week - performances Tues matinée at 1.30pm; Wed & Thurs evening at 7pm. There is a great atmosphere in school with music and song drifting all around the building, inside and out! We are in for such a treat. Please accept our apologies for the difficulties in getting tickets for the shows – I know that despite our best efforts there are families who have not been able to get tickets. We will leave the double doors open between the hall and the gallery during the shows to enable as many as possible to at least hear the performances despite not being able to get a ticket. Thank you for bearing with us – this is something we are looking to improve for future events. Please click here for a reminder of instructions for students taking part in House Music.
Administrative Assistant vacancy
We currently have a vacancy for an Administrative Assistant with a media, marketing and design specialism, to work 25 hours per week for our Odyssey Teaching School Alliance. This varied role will include marketing events, overseeing the Alliance website, meeting and greeting delegates, as well as more general administrative tasks. Please see the Pate’s website (here) for a job description and details of how to apply. The deadline for applications is Friday 3rd October @ 4pm.
Mozart Requiem 18th March – invitation to sing from Ellie Lane, Head of Music
All unnamed lost property will be on display in the school office all of the coming week. There is a mountain of lost property, including items from the end of last term found during and after House Drama. Students should ask at the office - at lunchtimes only please – to access the items. Parents are also welcome to come in and have a look. This week will be the last chance to retrieve any lost items before they are finally disposed of. It would be of huge benefit if all clothing was named in some way (even in biro on the care label), including sixth form items, as this enables us to personally return any items which are handed in.
South Africa Sports Tour – please note that the latest instalment of £450 is now overdue.
Ireland Rugby Tour (Y8/9) – parents’ information evening on Mon 29th September @ 6.30pm in the school hall.
School finishes early at 2pm on Tuesday 7th October for the annual Open Evening
Parents’ Association AGM – Wednesday 8th October at 7pm in the Art Gallery – all welcome.

Finally, just to mention that the new secure entry systems will go live from next Monday 29th September. Entrances will be locked at all times during the school day and students and staff will use the finger scanners to access the building. The main reception entrance will be operated on a buzzer system, operated by reception staff. Students will have unrestricted access to all other entrances around the building.
