I was delighted to welcome Helen Mardell and Greg Howard (Pate’s parents), representing Comspace Limited – technical consultants in cellular and mobile satcoms, into school today to thank them for the company’s donation of £2000 to the Annual Fund, in particular to enable us to purchase some of the required oscilloscopes. Students were on hand to demonstrate the new equipment and our student photographers Allie Ganz and Kevin Beeson captured the occasion. It was a wonderful opportunity for me, the physics staff and some of our students to be able to demonstrate the real need for these items of equipment and the benefits they bring. We are very grateful to Comspace for its donation and the resulting new oscilloscopes. I would like to add my thanks to all those supporting the Annual Fund and hope that we will be able to purchase the remaining oscilloscopes shortly after half term. We still have many more items on our list of goals though, so please consider supporting the fund if you haven’t already done so.
Come to my home if there are other options for me it seems silly propecia online and it is here that you can hear a lot of interesting facts about which you have never heard of.
We received the exciting news this week that Emily Stephens (Y12) has been awarded a highly prestigious place in the National Youth Orchestra on oboe. This is an incredible achievement and we are thrilled for Emily. My thanks as ever to our Music staff for the wealth of extra-curricular opportunities they provide for our musicians to collaborate and perform, which ultimately help gifted musicians like Emily to achieve such accolades.
Isobel Connolly (Y9) and friends managed to raise a whopping £456 for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Bake it Better week. My thanks on behalf of Isy and GOSH to everyone who helped raise such an impressive sum, whether baking, transporting, bankrolling or consuming the cakes! Competition winners will be announced next week.
TRIP LAUNCH – China Summer 2015. Due to the low number of applicants for the previously advertised China trip we have managed to source a better value for money opportunity for our students to experience Chinese culture. We would like to apply for the IOE Confucius Institute Hanban 2015 China Summer Study Camp. This trip is open to current Year 8, 9 and 10 students who are either going to study Mandarin or those who are already studying the language. Please follow this link to the website for full details and reply slip.
Ski Trip – Please note that the next payment of £370 is due by the end of October (or £360 if they have their own helmet).
Higher Education and Careers Fair – Wednesday 5 November 2014 6-7.30pm. Our annual Higher Education and Careers fair is a drop-in event taking place the first Wednesday back after half term. We will be hosting 40 universities and many local and national companies, and gap year organisations in the hall and gym. We hope that parents and students in Y9 and above will be able call into the fair and seek out whatever top level Careers and Higher Education advice they need in order to enable them to make sound judgements and decisions for A levels and beyond. No need to book, just drop in.
