We welcomed almost 500 primary school children to Pate’s this week for their own special performance of The Wizard of Oz. They had a great time and, thanks to the generosity of the Parents’ Association, everyone was given a small bag of sweets during the interval. It is terrific to kick off the show with a packed audience of excited children and just delightful to see their response to it all. I was very proud of our students, who provided the warmest of welcomes and a thoroughly entertaining performance. If you have tickets for the Wizard of Oz this weekend you are in for a treat!  The show is being filmed by our own student tech crew and DVDs will cost £10 (proceeds to school tech.).  The DVDs can be ordered on show nights or by following this link.  They will be available from 8th December in plenty of time for Christmas.

Come to my home if there are other options for me it seems silly propecia online and it is here that you can hear a lot of interesting facts about which you have in no circumstances heard of.

This coming Thursday 27th November is mufti day – the Charity Committee will be working with the ASHA group to raise funds for this charity which supports children in an Indian slum. There will be an ‘international’ theme, and students are encouraged to dress up in a costume that represents a chosen country. ASHA will be running a quiz for Y7-9 in the hall at lunchtime; members of the group will be visiting forms next weeks with more information on how to sign up to take part. Also during Thursday lunchtime in the Art Gallery, a group of Sixth Formers are running a fundraising event for Josie's Dragonfly Trust, a charity brightening the lives of young people living with cancer. There will be cakes, hot drinks, nail painting, henna and live music! Open to everyone - boys and girls, teachers and pupils - to come along to look beautiful and eat cake! Entry costs £1, including a free hot drink and cake - nails and henna will cost between £1 & £2. We are hoping to see as many people there as possible, even just to pop in for a drink and a chat. We would ask that students check with parents before getting a henna tattoo. For further information please contact the school office in the first instance This email address is being protected from spambots. Now is the time to start pulling together your team for the Pate’s Parents’ Association annual Family Quiz which will be held on Friday, December 5th. Spaces are filling fast so fill in your entry form by clicking here now. This year’s theme is the West End. Don’t panic - an in-depth knowledge of the West End isn’t required. Rounds will simply be named after something related. Each team consists of up to 6 members made up of parents, friends and family. Refectory doors will open at 6.30pm when picture rounds will be available to view, and the quiz will start promptly at 7pm. Bring your own banquet/gourmet picnic/non-competitive nibbles! Don’t worry about drinks - support the PPA by buying drinks at the cash bar. Tickets (£30 per team or £25 if booked by November 28th).

Ski Trip – Parents’ Information Evening Tuesday 25th November @ 7pm in the hall.

Odyssey Teaching School News:
We are delighted that from September 2015 it will be possible to train to be a teacher directly with Pate's. If you or anyone you know would be interested in learning more about this opportunity please do visit our Teaching School Website (here) or contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Please support this year’s Young Enterprise team by buying their ingenious 2015-16 calendars. Each month features a local Gloucestershire family walk and I wonder how many families will be able to boast of having completed all 12 walks during the year! Calendars cost £8.99 each (special offer for Pate’s families) with a bulk buy Christmas offer. It seems a lovely idea doesn’t it? Please click here to see a sample and full details of how to order.

Charity Christmas cards & design competition:
This Christmas, the Community Committee are running a Christmas card design competition. There will be three winners: lower school (Years 7 & 8), middle school (Years 9 & 10) and upper school (Years 11-13). The winner’s designs will be available for parents to buy with all proceeds going to the local charity Family Space, who help disadvantaged parents spend more time with their children and meet up with other families as well. The deadline for entries is Tuesday 2nd December and order forms will be sent out by the end of the same week. Submissions can be sent in to any member of the Community Committee (or via the school office if that is easier).

I would like to thank Dr. Jonathan Mawdesley-Thomas, the medical director of Saracen Care Services for his generous sponsorship of this season's 1st XV rugby shirts. The new kit has inspired them to play some outstanding rugby, winning virtually all their matches so far this season! All three senior teams are looking forward to the remaining 5 games of the season against some tough opposition. To follow all our sport please click here.

Congratulations to Josh Cottell (Y11) who was privileged to perform at the Schools Prom at the Royal Albert Hall recently. Please follow this link to the Classic FM website to see some really wonderful photographs taken over the three days (Josh features in no. 56!).

Finally, just a reminder that Friday 28th November and Monday 1st December are teacher training (inset) days and there will be no students in school. If you cannot accommodate your child at home please email This email address is being protected from spambots. Yours sincerely
