Congratulations to everyone involved in Wizard of Oz. Almost 1500 people came through our doors over the four shows and what a fabulous experience it was, with all the pyrotechnics, lighting, scenery, stunning performances – and even snow!. The sheer exuberance of the students was remarkable. Professional photographs from the show are available to purchase via our website – please click here to see them. The show was filmed by our own student tech crew – please click here to order a DVD costing £10 (proceeds to school tech.). The DVDs will be available from 8th December in plenty of time for Christmas.
Come to my home if there are other options for me it seems silly propecia online and it is here that you can hear a lot of nutty facts about which you have in no circumstances heard of.
Euroscola Competition Success!
Tuesday went off with a bang this week, with a group of Y13 students winning a trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg for the exciting Euroscola parliamentary event. Multiple teams of students from Katherine Lady Berkeley School and Stroud High battled it out with Pate's one fabulous team, with the competition consisting of five high-quality presentations and ensuing debates on hot European topics. Emma Charlesworth, Joe Crossley, Annabelle Dufour, Tara Goatley, Hannah Hamilton, Isabel Ion, Natasha Ion, Katie Lawrence and Natasha Steels, impressed the judges with their dynamic, informative and entertaining 'Newsnight' parody entitled 'Immigration - the fuel for a new "iron curtain" in Europe?' and the high-level questions and answers that they articulated throughout the event. Having worked extremely hard with their preparation and honing ideas with very modest guidance from the History and Politics Department and Language Faculty combined, the Pate's team went on to clinch second place, thereby winning an opportunity to represent Gloucestershire at the European Parliament! Mary Wormington, former GLIC International Education Officer, who has been judging the competition for some 11 years now, mentioned that this year the standard was at an all-time peak, commenting, "I was amazed...the presentations today were exceptional."
The lucky winners will travel to and stay in Strasbourg to take part in the Euroscola Day in February 2015, where they will present and introduction to Pate's in an official EU language other than English and spend the day discussing European Integration in working parties and committees with young people from a multitude of other European countries. If you are interested in finding out more, please visit http://www.europarl.europa.eu/euroscola . Well done all!
There are still just a few tables left for next week’s Pate’s Parents’ Association annual Family Quiz which will be held on Friday, December 5th. Gather your team and fill in your entry form by clicking here. This year’s theme is the West End. Each team consists of up to 6 members made up of parents, friends and family. Refectory doors will open at 6.30pm when picture rounds will be available to view, and the quiz will start promptly at 7pm. Bring your own food but don’t worry about drinks - support the PPA by buying drinks at the cash bar. Tickets £30 per team (or £25 if you book this weekend!).
The Pate’s German Christmas Market will take place in the school hall on Saturday 13th December between 11am and 1pm. There will be stalls, including Phoenix Cards, rag dolls, candles, jewellery, decorations, cushions and pocket-money toys. Our own students will be offering Christmassy competitions, games, crafts, gifts and sweets. Do join us for some pre-Christmas cheer and festive food and drink, all in a good cause. The charities we will be supporting are Little Princess Trust, James Hopkins Trust, Cheltenham Open Door and Leckhampton Court (Sue Ryder).
Christmas Carol Service Wednesday 17th December 7pm @ Christchurch, Malvern Rd, Cheltenham
Christmas is fast approaching so do please put the Pate’s Christmas Carol Service in your diaries. This candle-lit service is a lovely way to see in the festive season, and beautiful singing from five different Pate’s choirs will get you in the Christmas spirit! As this is a service there is no need to buy a ticket but there will be a retiring collection at the end in aid of Shelter.

Finally, congratulations to Lauren Keitley (9G) on her rowing success with her partner Lotte Carpenter (from Stroud High) rowing for Gloucester Rowing Club in the J14 section at the Avon County Autumn Head competition recently.
