Congratulations to Forest Green Rovers U16 team, especially Pate’s student (centre-back) Sydney Valentine (10Y), on winning the Gloucestershire FA U16 Cup final, beating Longwell Green 1-0. The annual Cup competition involves youth teams from all over Gloucestershire and Bristol. To get to the final, FGR beat Bishops Cleeve Colts, Downend Flyers and Cheltenham Spa. The match was played at the Gloucestershire FA HQ in Almondsbury, Bristol. That makes them County Champions!

Jungle School - Just a reminder for students that there will be a mufti day on Friday 20th March – wild animal themed! Students should bring some change into school - £1 to dress up as your favourite wild animal (£1.50 for non-themed mufti!) plus lots of Easter fun to join in with; all fundraising activities organised by the Charity Committee.

Finally I must congratulate Peter Fielding (Y13), our own Pate’s School Newspaper Editor, who has been named in the top three student sports journalists in Britain, and also shortlisted for the David Welch award at the British Sports Journalism Awards. The ceremony takes place in London next week and I am really delighted to hear of such an accolade for Peter – well done!

Yours sincerely
