I would like to express my most sincere thanks to all those have made donations to our Making £nds Meet Appeal. I am writing to thank everyone personally, so if you haven’t received a letter from me within a couple of weeks of sending in your donation, particularly if it came in by ‘pupil post’, I would be most grateful if you would check that we have received it. Some donations have taken a little time to emerge from the school bag! We are making fantastic progress at conquering next year’s shortfall, but the following year (16/17) is still a significant concern. We need to start tackling it now. It is worth noting that many employers offer ‘match funding’ as part of their CSR policy to employees who make donations to a charity. Pate’s, as an ‘exempt charity’, can benefit from this. These can be very generous and double the value of your donation. More information is available here including a list of companies who offer this, or speak to your HR or personnel department direct. I would like to add another reminder that we are giving the finance presentation again in school, next Tuesday 23rd June at 5.30pm. For those of you who live further away in the Cirencester, Stroud, and Swindon areas we are giving the presentation on Monday 6th July at 7pm in Cirencester (United Business Centres (Midlands) Ltd, Cirencester Office Park, Tetbury Road, Cirencester, GL7 6JJ). To book a place, please click on the date of the event you wish to attend, which helps us arrange appropriate seating. For further information on how to make a donation please click here or contact Shirley Park (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

I am delighted that our Parents’ Association Committee have decided to champion a feeling amongst our parents of wishing to help raise the profile of the funding crisis in our schools in Parliament. The committee has prepared a ‘sample letter’ which parents can use as much or little of, as they wish to write to their MP. Please visit the PA part of the website HERE to read more and to access the letter and find contact details for MPs.

Come to my dwelling if there are other options for me it seems foolish propecia online and it is here that you can hear a lot of interesting facts about which you have in no circumstances heard of.

Most students have now finished their exams and we are looking forward to our annual Cricket Week next week with a varied programme including staff vs students, and we are once again privileged to play against the visiting MCC - do join us in the marquee if you have some time to spare (please see below for programme and latest timings).  On Wednesday staff and students will be welcoming almost 200 families to the last of our summer open mornings; Year 11 students will be back in school this week to join staff for their post-exams celebration trip to Alton Towers; Year 10 Art students are off to an open air exhibition; and a number of Y11 RAF cadets will even be flying a plane this week! Also, I would like to remind everyone that there will be no students in school on Friday due to a staff (INSET) training day.

House Drama rehearsal schedules (final versions) have been put together and sent to parents and students today via Schoolcomms Gateway email. Rehearsals officially begin from Monday and the school will once again be full of singing and dancing in every available space! The hottest tickets in town will be available to buy via Ticketsource from next Friday 26th June and will cost £8 (adults) and £3 (students). This year there will be 3 performances as follows: Tuesday 14th July @ 7pm; and Wednesday 15th July Matinée @ 2.30pm, as well as the Wednesday evening performance @ 7pm, when the judging will take place. Please book early to avoid disappointment as the tickets are likely to sell out quickly (hence the extra Matinée performance this year).

House Drama tee shirts are now available to order; these cost £5 and are a lovely memento of one of the favourite events in the school calendar. Please click here for an order form, which should be handed into the school office with payment by Thursday.

Request for hosting Australian cricketers:  The school are hosting 19 boys aged 14-16 from Trinity Grammar School, Melbourne from Saturday 27th June until Monday 29th and therefore desperately require your support in allowing one, two or three boys to join your family for the weekend. You do not need to organise anything special for them, they will be happy joining in with family life. From all our touring experiences, an offer to wash some kit would probably be very much appreciated. Itinerary is as follows;
Saturday 27th June – Trinity GS and staff arrive at Pate’s GS at 12:00, where school will provide a meal. Pate’s 1st XI v Trinity touring side 2-6.30pm, after which host families take boys back to their houses for the evening.
Sunday 28th June – Day with host family.
Monday 29th June – Arrive at Pate’s by 8.30-45am for a 9am depart.
We appreciate all families are really busy but would value your support in hosting the Australians for their time with us. It is always a great experience for both sides and some long standing relationships for gap years have been developed in the past. Please contact Simon Dandy (here) This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. as soon as possible if you can help out.

More athletics success:  Wednesday 17th June saw the finale of our team athletics season. 32 boys from Y7 and Y8 made their way to the Prince of Wales Stadium for the Cheltenham Schools Boys' Minors Competition. It was a fantastic night of track and field, with Pate's fighting off competition from all the other Cheltenham schools to win the minors shield for the 16th consecutive year! Even more impressive (and unusual) was the fact that both Y7 and Y8 won their respective competitions. This, combined with the success of last week, means Pate's boys are district champions in Y7, Y8 and Y9 age groups (not a feat we have achieved in a number of years). Well done to all involved on a brilliant season of athletics.
