Students raised the roof this week when they put on their three dazzling House Music shows. Congratulations to the House Music champions for 2015 – Gloucester! Main category awards were: Best Boys Choir - York, Best Girls Choir – Richmond, Best Orchestra – Beaufort, Best Jazz Band – Gloucester, and there were individual awards for arrangement, technical performance, interpretation and spirit. The students, whether they played a small or large part, have inspired each other to dig deep and have produced something really special, so spirited and quite unique - something unforgettable. My congratulations and huge thanks to our Director of Music Ellie Lane and to all our music teachers, as well as Heads of House. With so many students wanting to be involved, this year’s House Music was the biggest logistical challenge ever and it is thanks to Rachel Thorpe that it was even possible to fit so many students into rehearsal spaces, holding areas and onto the stage itself! To parents thanks for your patience with pickups and late nights. Please follow this link to our website to see some of the photos taken by the students.

Come to my house if there are other options for me it seems foolish propecia online and it is here that you can hear a lot of nutty facts about which you have under no circumstances heard of.

Pate’s Parents’ Association:
House Music was in fact the swansong for the outgoing Parents’ Association Committee members who have come to the end of their term of office and during the finale almost 1,000 students serenaded them in the spotlight with a specially composed thank you song. Over the last four years they have raised a staggering £75,000+! Just using House Music as an example of one of the many events they have organised: in one night the PA cooked 1,000 sausages and their takings over the three performances were well over £4,000! All the profit raised will go directly into the Making £nds Meet fund and will be reinvested in our children’s education. It is impossible to overestimate what a valuable contribution the PA and these parents in particular have made to the school. Their legacy is a thriving and well-organised Parents’ Association and they would like to encourage other parents to join the new team. They say “It has been great to have played a part in school life and we could never have imagined that we would make so many friends and have so much fun doing it!” My heartfelt thanks to Claire Fraser, Karen Hope, Tina Rowcraft, Penny Liddiard, Katy Steinhardt, Val Kenmir and Richard Oliver. All parents are welcome to attend the PA AGM on Wednesday 7th October at 7pm in the Gallery. Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. Are you interested in becoming a teacher? Do you know anybody who might?
The Teaching School arm of Pate’s Grammar School (Odyssey Teaching School Alliance) is again offering Schools Direct teacher training places for September 2016. This is a fantastic opportunity to train within a school environment with placements at both Pate’s Grammar School and our neighbours All Saints’ Academy (at secondary level). In 2016 places are available in Art, English, Maths, Computer Science, Biology, MFL, Chemistry, Geography, History and Physics. At primary level our alliance is also able to offer you the chance to train with a group of eight-strong Gloucestershire based primary schools, many rated as ‘outstanding’ / ‘good with outstanding features’. If you or someone you know might be interested in pursuing a teaching career and you have the relevant degree please do visit the ITT/Schools Direct section of our website (here), or alternatively email This email address is being protected from spambots. Pate’s Music:
A reminder that parents and staff are invited to join the choir for the Pate’s Choral Concert on Wednesday 10th February 2016. This year the work will be Benjamin Britten’s St Nicolas. The commitment will be rehearsals on: Sunday 31st January (7-9pm), Sunday 7th February with orchestra (7-9pm), and a final rehearsal at 4pm on the day. If you would like to take part please email This email address is being protected from spambots. Thank you in anticipation of your support in enabling your children (Y8-13) to be tour guides for our annual Open Evening. I am very proud to introduce visiting families to our students and I always receive highly complimentary emails afterwards praising our students and often asking me to thank particular individuals. The students really look forward to it and there is such a buzz as it is such a big night for the school. The students will give tours together in small groups, or help out in departments, and I would be grateful if you could encourage them to sign up with their form tutors if they haven’t already.

Yours sincerely
