My thanks to Y7 & Y10 parents who have attended information / social evenings in school this week.  Please do contact myself or Heads of Year if you have any queries going forward.  Next week we can look forward to Halloween Fun provided by the Charity Committee.  On Wednesday (last day of term), there will be a day of Halloween-themed activities organised by the charity committee to raise money for their 5 chosen charities; including a free showing of a Halloween film suitable for all year groups throughout lunchtime, during which popcorn, sweets, and toffee apples will be available for purchase (students should bring some change).  The day will also be mufti, with a donation of £1.50 for normal clothes, and £1 for Halloween fancy dress. The best costume in each year group, as judged by the charity committee members, will win a special prize. There will also be spooky prizes around the school throughout the day, so students watch out!

Come to my house if there are other options for me it seems silly propecia online and it is here that you can hear a lot of interesting facts regarding which you have under no circumstances heard of.

Looking ahead to next half term:

Higher Education and Careers Fair – Wednesday 4 November 2015 drop-in between 6.00 & 7.30pm:  Our annual Higher Education and Careers Fair is taking place on the evening of Wednesday 4 November.  This year we will be hosting over 40 universities and more than 30 local and national companies and gap year organisations in the hall and gym. We hope that parents and students in Y9 and above will be able to join us for what is an important part of the top level Careers and Higher Education advice on offer to our students in order to enable them to make sound judgements and decisions for A levels and beyond. There is no need to book a place, just come along.

Diwali Night fundraising event – Saturday 7th November 5-7pm in the hall. We are organizing an Indian classical dance (Bharatanatyam) show with Diwali Theme in aid of Making Ends Meet funds on Saturday 7th November, 5 - 7pm in the hall.  Pate’s students past and present, highly accomplished in the art, will be performing along with a renowned Bharatanatyam dancer & choreographer Anusha Subramanyam (Sami Horwood & Chandini Rathanam from Y7; Thrinethra Gowri Shankar & Maya Horwood from Y9; Priya Krishna from Year 12; and former Pate's students Nupur and Netra Takwale). There will be rangoli decorated with flowers and lights and Mehndi stall (Henna), plus a bar and a selection of Indian food on offer.   It will be a fabulous cultural experience and opportunity to celebrate Diwali.  Please do join us if you can for this special event.  Please click on the poster below to buy tickets (also available from the school reception) - £8 adults, £3 students and £20 family.

Quiz Night:  Save the date and buy your tickets now for the increasingly popular Pate’s Parents’ Association annual Family Quiz which will be held on Friday, December 4th. With a distinct taste of Patesian Rhapsody, this year’s challenging theme is Queen Night with aptly named rounds. Each team, of up to 6 members, can be made up of parents, friends, family, and/or students. Don't worry – it’s not just about the rock band! Refectory doors will open at 6.30pm when picture rounds will be available to view, and the quiz will start promptly at 7pm. Bring your own banquet/gourmet picnic/festive feast.  Don’t worry about drinks - support the PPA by buying drinks at the cash bar. Click here for your order form which should be handed in to the office. Tickets are £30 per team. Book early to avoid disappointment. Last year was a sell out with 32 teams. A great fun way to help Make £nds Meet.

With the Autumn term now well under way, it is always fantastic to see so many of our students taking responsibility for their own learning. As a school we know that qualifications open vital doors for our students, however we are also passionate about providing pupils with a much broader education. Please do remind your sons and daughters to make use of our KS3 and KS4/5 Broadening Horizons Booklets, which encourage them to think beyond the confines of exam specifications and to stretch and challenge themselves, exploring learning from new perspectives. Any questions about the booklets should be addressed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  Y7-9 booklet (here); Y10-13 booklet (here).

School office update: Email communication to parents:  Please note that if a parent has an ‘Out of office’ message on their email then our messages will not be delivered.  The Head’s message can be picked up via the website and Head of Year messages are posted on PLATO in the ‘Parent Information’ area.  Trips letters on also available on the school website.
Payments via Schoolgateway:  There will be occasions when certain items are ‘offered’ for sale, but are not compulsory purchases.  Examples would be things like House Polo Shirts, Caroline Lawrence Book orders etc.  If parents see a payment request in the payment section they are unsure about then they will need to refer to the back-up information relevant to the payment – in the Head’s message, Year Head message, trips offers.  Payments that appear are not necessarily a request or demand for payment, merely an optional offer to buy.

Sports Update: 1st VII netball squad reach Regional Finals - many congratulations to our 1st VII netball squad who made the final of the U19 County Tournament.  The squad started well and won all their group games comfortably, only conceding 4 goals. After winning their quarter final 15-1 they met an experienced and talented Chosen Hill team in the semi final and came back from 2-4 at half time to win 7-6. This set up a tough challenge in the final when they worked really hard but lost to an U19 Hartpury College team.  This means that Pate's, along with Hartpury, will represent Gloucestershire in the Regional Round in Cornwall in January. Many congratulations and good luck!
